Remaining Calgary Flames Free Agent Options
Looking at some depth the Flames can still acquire
A Statistical Look at 12 Potential Goalie Targets
The Flames will need a goalie. Fortunately there are plenty of options.
The Pending Contact of Johnny Gaudreau
He'll almost definitely get paid by the Flames - How much?
Douglas Murray invited to training camp on PTO
Second time is the charm, eh Douglas? The Flames invite the veteran Swede for the second time in a calendar year.
Flames re-sign Micheal Ferland: two year deal
He might be irrelevant, but he has a new deal just in time for training camp.
What should Micheal Ferland's next contract be?
It's been hanging over the Flames' heads all summer long: Micheal Ferland, fan favourite, remains unsigned with training camp fast approaching.
How well did the Flames do on Gio's next contract?
Considering Gio's age, ability, and contractual status, there was never going to be a completely happy ending with his extension. But what the Flames got? It was pretty good.
Flames re-sign Mark Giordano
The captain avoids free agency next summer with a spiffy six year deal.
Jason Bell invited to rookie camp with the Flames
The 18 year old Montréalais went undrafted this year.
What makes Paul Byron so valuable?
WOWY stats help analyze how well certain players perform together. The NHL doesn't track them yet, which is a shame for Paul Byron: because he's really, really good at making his teammates better.
Byron, Flames avoid arbitration
The speedy little forward who gets a lot of breakaways will be back at it for another year.
Calgary Flames re-sign RFA Turner Elson
Elson: 605K Major, 67.5K minor. http://t.co/NhF6OxCx72 https://t.co/iadR2DgTwT

Another restricted free agent down! Of the group of Flames RFAs qualified, most have been settled: either they're NHLers with new deals, arbitration cases mostly settled, leaving for Germany, college kids who accepted their qualifying offers, or... Turner Elson. Elson isn't likely to play in the NHL this season, but if he can continue building on his most recent years, he'll hopefully have a good AHL season. He's a worthy gamble on what projects to be, at most, a bottom-six player. One less contract for the Flames to worry about: now it's down to just Paul Byron and Micheal Ferland.
Jooris, Flames avoid arbitration
The Calgary Flames are officially getting work done, having re-signed two restricted free agents over the past two days.
Finding Positives In The Lance Bouma Contract
No, we don't believe it's a good deal for the Flames. Yes, he is a good player for a certain role on the team. Is he worth it? That's up to Bouma himself to prove.
Bouma is now Prust, and that's bad for the Flames
Who doesn't love fan favourite fourth liners? Well, you tend to stop loving them when they can't reach the expectations their salaries demand. About that...
Flames re-sign, overpay for Lance Bouma
This offseason was going so well... and then, Lance Bouma's new contract happened.
Could the Flames still be in on Cody Franson?
The Flames have already majorly upgraded their defence by adding Dougie Hamilton, but there's always room for improvement: and a top four defenceman is still available in the open market.
Arbitration: How much are Bouma, Flames offering?
Lance Bouma's arbitration hearing is set to go for July 22. There's still a chance it doesn't happen.
David Wolf back to Germany?
The Flames took a chance on the big German forward, but now, it may simply be time to part ways.
Agostino, Shore accept qualifying offers
Four RFAs have accepted their qualifying offers, leaving six left to sign.
Bill Arnold, Bryce Van Brabant accept their qualifying offers
#Flames Bill Arnold ($824 000 2 way) and Bryce Van Brabant ($874 000 2 way) signed their QO's.

As a young team, the Flames have a lot of restricted free agents to take care of. First, they signed Mikael Backlund; then, Dougie Hamilton; then, a trade gave Max Reinhart a chance with a new team. That list is a little smaller now, though, as two of the remaining 10 RFAs have accepted their qualifying offers. Bill Arnold - former Johnny Gaudreau college linemate, and potentialy great defensive centre - and Bryce Van Brabant - known more for his truculence than offence - are sticking with the Flames at great prices. That leaves eight guys to go, including three players who filed for arbitration. Lance Bouma, Paul Byron, and Josh Jooris may be a bit more difficult to get under contract, but the remaining five should get done eventually, and with little problem.
Flames arbirtration dates set
Looks like we have some dates set for arbitration hearings for Bouma, Jooris, and Byron.
Three Flames file for arbitration
Five restricted free agents, three arbitration files. Probably zero problems.
Where does Michael Frolik fit on the Flames?
The extremely versatile Michael Frolik could fit on any of the Flames' first three lines. Where suits him best?
Michael Frolik and his teammates
Earlier, we alluded to the incredible impact Frolik has on his teammates. Let's take an in depth look at the magnitude of his presence.
Brad Treliving: The man with the plan
Brad Treliving is the man with the plan, and by god, he's going to execute it.
Flames sign Derek Grant
Not every deal has to be a blockbuster. Grant likely won't make an impact in Calgary, but game on for Stockton.
