If you are wondering who the Flames are playing this season and when, you can wonder no more. The Flames regular and preseason schedules were released and they open up with a rather large test to start the regular season. The defending Stanley Cup Champion Colorado Avalanche will visit the Scotiabank Saddledome on October 13 as the Flames will try to end their season opener futility.

As for other big games on the docket, Calgary will play the Edmonton Oilers three times during the upcoming season, with all three matchups being played before the start of 2023.

Calgary will also have two, five game road trips with one taking them through Tampa, Florida, Philly, Pittsburgh, Washington and Carolina, while the other sees them tangle with Seattle, Rangers, Detroit, Buffalo and Ottawa.

As for the preseason, Calgary opens that up on September 25th with the Vancouver Canucks and concludes on October 7th with the Winnipeg Jets. The Flames will play eight preseason tilts with two each against Vancouver, Edmonton, Seattle and Winnipeg.
