After an afternoon of "meh" depth signings and watching Johnny Gaudreau walk to a Columbus, Calgary made another move that keeps a player at the Dome. The Flames and Nikita Zadorov came to terms on a two year contract that will pay him $3.75 million dollars per season.

Two-years at $3.75 million, per @FriedgeHNIC. https://t.co/mPn7NVo7wP
Zadorov was a highly criticized signing last off season, but played very well for the Flames and anchored their bottom pairing with Erik Gudbranson.
The deal gives the Flames some security on the blue line and a physical presence they needed after his former partner in Gudbranson left for Columbus.
