2021 NHL Entry Draft

The Flames came into the 2021 NHL Entry Draft with the 13th pick and with a bunch of different options at their disposal. They chose to stand pat at 13 and selected Matthew Coronato.

Coronato is a 19 year old, right shot forward who is on his way to Harvard University. He clocks in at 5’10 and 183 pounds and has spent the last two seasons in the USHL with the Chicago Steel. In those two seasons he has logged 96 games and pilled up 125 points, with his best season coming in 2019-20 where he had 48 goals and 37 assists.

It’s highly unlikely he will have any impact on the Flames roster in the coming seasons as he will be working on his game at Harvard University in one of the most competitive conferences in the NCAA.
