In a piece of news that’s not particularly surprising, the Calgary Flames have re-signed Brett Ritchie to a one year deal worth $900,000. Ritchie played in 32 games last season, putting up four goals and four assists for eight points. He joined the team on a PTO on January 9, and was released on January 12, before signing a one-year league minimum deal on January 17.

It’s pretty clear that Ritchie is a guy that Darryl Sutter likes as he saw a wide range of roles this past season, including time alongside Johnny Gaudreau and Sean Monahan. With the signing the Flames also fulfill the expansion draft forward requirements for Seattle.
