Calgary Flames vs Vancouver Canucks, 1:30 PM MT, Scotiabank Saddledome, Calgary AB
TV: ESPN+, SNW, SNP - Radio: Sportsnet 960
Calgary Flames (25-27-3, 53 pts) - Vancouver Canucks (23-28-4, 50 pts)
Nothing and I mean NOTHING says we don’t care about this makeup game at all than a 1:30 PM MT start on a Wednesday afternoon. That’s right, your 2021 Calgary Flames season goes out with a whimper in an afternoon tilt with the Vancouver Canucks. Despite the horrible game time, at least the NHL had the decency to put this season to sleep with back to back games and not make you wait for the sound of Taps, signaling the end of this underwhelming season.
Want in depth analysis of this upcoming tilt? No. All you need to know is that even with a loss the Flames, at worst, will finish all by themselves in 5th place, ahead of the Ottawa Senators and these very Vancouver Canucks. Whoo hoo! So you’ve got that to root for. I mean, there really isn’t much else to say about this game other than after 60 (hopefully) minutes of hockey, you will be relieved from watching this underachieving and uninspired bunch for the rest of your Spring/Summer. You can now start speculating on draft picks, trades and the growing ulcer you are constructing while worrying whether this will be Johnny Gaudreau’s final game in Calgary. To quote Frank Constanza: SERENITY NOW!!!!!!!!!
