The Morning After Winnipeg: Not A Lot Of Good To Report From Last Night

Three players that should be helping the Flames....aren’t.

NHL: Winnipeg Jets at Calgary Flames Candice Ward-USA TODAY Sports

The Morning After

Calgary Flames 1 - Winnipeg Jets 5

Recap - NHL Standings

Tidbits

-Andersson Struggles: It’s been a while since Rasmus Andersson found the back of the net and last night added to the pile. The Flames defenceman passed many times on chances to shoot and now has gone 20 straight games without a goal.

-Speaking Of Struggling: Mikael Backlund is having a season he’d probably like to forget at this point. Backlund has only 6 goals and 13 assists and he was held off the scoresheet again last night. He’s now only scored twice in his last 15 and has been on the negative side of the +/- ledger nine times in that time frame as well.

-Not Making The Grade: Jacob Markstrom took the loss last night, dropping him to 12-12-2 on the season. Since Markstrom won three straight from March 11th to March 15th he’s lost five of his last six and surrendered 18 goals in those five defeats.
