The Morning After

Calgary Flames 4 - Toronto Maple Leafs 3

Recap - NHL Standings

Tidbits

-Finally On The Board: It’s been a little dry for Matthew Tkachuk in the goal scoring and energy department lately, but he broke out of both funks last night. Tkachuk put the Flames up 1-0 with just over a minute gone in the first period last night. The goal was his 8th of the season, snapping an eight game goalless streak. (He also logged a fight as well)

-Milestone Mark: Mark Giordano scored his 4th goal of the season last night on the power play, which was the 50th PPG of his career. His 50 PPGs puts his four behind Gary Suter and Eric Vail for 10th place in Flames history.

-Hold ‘Em Down: The Flames held Auston Matthews off the scoresheet for the second time this season when playing the Leafs. He has five points in five games against Calgary, but the Flames are one of two teams to hold him pointless twice. The other? The Vancouver Canucks.
