Highlight Of The Night
Calgary Flames 3 - Winnipeg Jets 2
The Flames played like a full team tonight, getting contributions from all over the ice. One of those, an unlikely one, came at the 13:34 mark of the second period. With the game knotted at 1-1, Calgary was looking for some momentum to take the lead and got just what they needed. Calgary would win a faceoff and Josh Leivo would collect the puck, circle behind the net and find Juuso Valimaki near the blue line. The Flames defenceman would let loose a low shot that Byron Froese would tip in while being mugged and put the Flames up 2-1. Take a look at the clip below and see just how hard this deflection was due to Froese’s positioning. Not only was it skillful, it was also his first as a member of the Flames.
