The Morning After
Calgary Flames 6 - Ottawa Senators 3
Tidbits
-First Of The Year: Juuso Valimaki finally got on the score sheet today with this first goal of the season, putting the Flames up 1-0 just four minutes into the first period. The goal is the second of his NHL career and his seventh point of the season.
-First Shortie: The Flames PK looked more like a PP unit today and were rewarded, FINALLY, for all their hard work. Mikael Backlund was able to find Andrew Mangiapane who would find the back of the net, scoring his 8th of the season and the Flames first short handed goal of the year.
-Makin’ Up: On Thursday night the Flames and Sens didn’t take a penalty during their game. Saturday? Much different story. All totaled, the Flames and Senators collected 10 penalties, with Calgary scoring one out of four times and Ottawa scoring three out of six times.
