The Morning After
Calgary Flames 3 - Toronto Maple Leafs 0
Tidbits
-100: Matthew Tkachuk had been stuck on 99 goals for nine straight games after getting his 98th and 99th against the Winnipeg Jets on February 2nd. Tonight he put the Flames up 2-0 with his tip in of a Mark Giordano shot, getting him the 100th goal of his career.
-Lucky Number 13: Sean Monahan came back from being day to day and had himself a night. The Calgary centre would collect a goal and an assist in the 3-0 victory. The goal was the first time he had scored in 12 games.
-No More Streak: Auston Matthews was on quite a run. The Maple Leafs star had a point in 16 straight games to start the season, but David Rittich had other ideas. Matthews had 3 SOG, but didn’t light the lamp, nor did he hand out an assist, halting his point streak at 16 straight.
