Staff Predictions & Projected Lines: Mikael Backlund Is Back!

The Flames will get, arguably, their best player lately back from a short stint with an injury.

Predictions

Mark: Calgary Flames 4 - Vancouver Canucks 2

Mikael Backlund is back so I am fully confident in the Flames tonight. It's as simple as that.

Renu: Calgary Flames 3 - Vancouver Canucks 0

The team owes Markstrom another shutout against his old team. Markstrom last shutout the Canucks on Jan.16th. Giordano is due for a goal - got him in my $10 parlay.

Michael: Calgary Flames 7 - Vancouver Canucks 2

I don’t know, I’m feeling a blowout tonight. The Flames have looked way better on home ice this year, especially against Vancouver and it just feels like they’re due for a big offensive game with Backlund back.

Gordie: Calgary Flames 5- Vancouver Canucks 2

Really disappointed to see Mackey come out of the lineup, Simon back on the top line, and breaking up the Lucic-Dube-Bennett line (whom I will never ever ever use that horrible “Bubble boys”) name. Still, the Flames have been playing poorly and it’s hard to imagine them starting a third straight game with no sign of life.
