HOTN: Oh Look, It’s Johnny Gaudreau Again

With the amount of looks Johnny Gaudreau had last night, some sort of heroics were bound to happen.

Calgary Flames v Vancouver Canucks

Highlight Of The Night

Calgary Flames 4 - Vancouver Canucks 3 (OT)

The Flames looked like they had this one wrapped up and Rasmus Andersson and Elias Lindholm were going to take home HOTN honours, but then the Canucks happened. Brock Boeser scored with 31 seconds left in the third period and we were off to overtime. Now, the Flames sometimes tend to give up the early goal in OT, so it’s always a little “clenchy” when we head towards free hockey, but not tonight. The Flames had a close to offside zone entry (it was reviewed and Calgary was onside) and set things up from the point. Elias Lindholm would feed Sean Monahan, who in turn would get the puck to Gaudreau who would one time a slapper, from a sharp angle, past Thatcher Demko and Calgary would walk away with two points and a 4-3 victory. Gaudreau was due tonight as he was dangerous from the puck drop, leading the Flames with seven shots on goal. Check out the game winner below!
