Matthew Tkachuk is on a list you don’t normally find him on.

As the Flames and Canucks head into game five of their ten game regular season we’re taking a look at who’s the hottest player on each squad and who could use a little pick me up to get their mojo working again. Here’s Who’s Hot & Who’s Not.

Hot

Flames: Andrew Mangiapane

Mangiapane’s march towards being a key player on the Flames roster is quickening it’s pace as he’s really been coming alive as of late. In his last five games Mangiapane has three goals and two assists, while only taking seven shots. His seven total points aren’t eye opening currently, but when you see that five of them have come since February 4th, you can really start to notice how well he’s been playing.

Canucks: Brock Boeser

It’s no surprise to find Boeser here as he has been upping his game lately for Vancouver. The Canucks have been struggling to score, but it’s not from lack of effort of Boeser’s end. The forward has two goals and two assists in his last five efforts and has been shooting the puck a lot as well. Over that five game span he has 15 SOG and his 16 points is good for 14th overall in the NHL.

Not

Flames: Matthew Tkachuk

Ever since the puck flip with the Maple Leafs, his tantrum leaving the ice and subsequent players only meeting, Matthew Tkachuk has been invisible. The Calgary forward has only two assists in his last five games and hasn’t scored since February 2nd. Add to that the fact that he isn’t playing his usual instigator role and drawing penalties and it’s obvious who the coldest Flames player currently is.

Canucks: J.T. Miller

Miller came out of the gate on fire with 10 points in the month of January, scoring twice and collecting eight assists. But since the calendar has turned to February, he’s cooled off significantly. In seven games this month he has a goal and two assists and hasn’t found the score sheet in four straight games.
