The Morning After

Calgary Flames 4 - Pittsburgh Penguins 0

NHL Standings - Recap

Tidbits

-400 Club: Mikael Backlund reached a career milestone last night with the primary assist on Blake Coleman’s goal that put the Flames up 2-0. Backlund becomes the 19th player in Flames history to reach the 400 point mark.

-Kylington Is Alright: Not only has Oliver Kylington seemed to stabilize the Calgary defence, but he’s been helping out with the offence as well. Kylington had two assists last night making it only the third time in is career he’s had a multi point night. The last time he did it was back on Feb 15th of 2020 where he had two helpers as well.

Road Warriors: The Flames hit the road for five and won all five in the process, putting them atop the Pacific Division and Western Conference. The last time Calgary won five in a row ANYWHERE was in 2007. Want more? They shut out the Penguins 4-0 making it the first time they’ve blanked the Pens in Pittsburgh since 1982 (I was 6 years old at the time).
