Flames Make First Small Wave of Cuts

Five players have been assigned to Stockton

NHL: Arizona Coyotes at Vegas Golden Knights Stephen R. Sylvanie-USA TODAY Sports

The Calgary Flames have made the first cuts of their 2021 training camp, sending five players to the Stockton Heat.

Those players are:

  • C Luke Philp
  • LW Justin Kirkland
  • RW Eetu Tuulola
  • D Colton Poolman
  • G Garret Sparks

These moves allowed the Flames to add Brett Ritchie on a PTO and also gives them the space to get Oliver Kylington, Jakob Pelletier, Connor Zary, and Dustin Wolf into camp and stay under the 36 skater limit required by the NHL for COVID rules. Those players are expected to join into camp action over the weekend and be in the lineup for the Flames 2nd split squad scrimmage game of the season on Monday night.
