Game 1: Calgary Flames 4 - Winnipeg Jets 1
Predictions
Mark: Calgary Flames 4 - Winnipeg Jets 2
The Flames hung a rough one on Connor Hellebuyck and Co. and he’s had a tough time in back to back losses this season. So, POTENTIALLY, the Flames could stick him with back to back losses for the 5th time this year. Winnipeg could be down two of it’s best players in Mark Scheifele and Patrik Laine, so this could make life “easier” for the Flames, though you never want to see players get hurt. Winnipeg could be in for a rough go of it if they can’t put one or both of those guys on the ice.
Renu: Calgary Flames 4 - Winnipeg Jets 2
I’m pleasantly surprised by the Flames Game 1 Win. Great to see both Gaudreau and Rieder get the monkey off their back. Backlund still on fire. Mangiapane potting EN for good measure was icing on the cake. Tkachuk’s “offseason” fight club training has been noticed. I want to see Talbot in net again. Keep the lineups the same. Afternoon game, without fans, no naps, 1-2 coffees. Let’s go Flames!
Maddie: Calgary Flames 4 - Winnipeg Jets 1
I’m feeling good about this one, folks! I liked a lot of the Flames’ Game 1, they looked much sharper and showed flashes of looking flat out dominant. Their offense was gelling well enough already, and they’re going to get a bit of help in this matchup as the Jets are figuring to be without Scheifele and Laine. I’m feeling good about the Flames being able to put up a strong repeat performance, so long as their goaltending holds up *furiously knocking on wood*.
