Highlight Of The Night Day

The Flames came up short in overtime today, losing 5-4 to Dallas in extra time. Calgary had a one goal lead as regulation was coming to a close, but Joe Pavelski was able to deposit his third goal of the afternoon with 11 seconds left in the third period to tie the game at 4-4.

With that out of the way, Tobias Rieder continued his strong playoff play, scoring his third short handed goal since the return to play. The goal came after Mark Giordano was sent the box for hooking. Derek Ryan was able to out skate John Klingberg to a loose puck and Ryan would set Rieder up with a slick back hand feed for the one timer. Coming into this season Tobias Rieder only had four short handed goals in six years of NHL play.
