Mark: (C) More games, more results for the Flames 21 year old, left shot centre. Dube played in 45 games this season, compared to 2018-19’s 25 games and his numbers climbed dramatically. His previous career high in points was five, which he easily eclipsed by knocking home six goals and collecting 10 assists. Will Dube ever be Top 6 talent? Eh, maybe not, but if he keeps growing as a player he will be a solid asset for the Flames in the future. The 2020-21 season will give the Flames another look at the British Columbia native as it’s the final year of his current deal with Calgary.
Gordie: (C) The biggest thing you want from young players is improvement, and I would say the 2016 2nd round pick did exactly that. Dube once again proved he’s too good for the AHL, putting up a point per game pace over 13 games to start the season, and then had a very promising hot streak early in the season. He put up 7 points over 6 games at the end of November and start of December, but struggled with consistency the rest of the season. I would like to see him get some solid time with different linemates next season, but he Derek Ryan and Milan Lucic formed a solid third line for a majority of the year.
