Mark: (A) As you will see I think all of us here at M&G are fully on board with Rasmus Andersson. The future of the Flames defence is in good hands with the 23 year old native of Sweden. In his second full season the defenceman had a career high in points (22) and goals (5) in nine less games than 2018-19. The Flames seem reluctant to move Andersson up to the top D pairing with Mark Giordano, but the two are a natural pairing that looked good when he was up with the Calgary captain. Andersson moved around the lineup a bit and his -7 was clearly a sign of that. It’ll be interesting to see what Andersson and a healthy Juuso Valimaki can do next season as they are both who the Flames will need to rely on for the foreseeable future. But for now, all is good with Andersson and it’s going to be a lot of fun to see him grow. I just wish he’d shoot more. That guy has a ROCKET.

Flash: (A+) If you’re familiar with my work you know I’m a huge HUGE fan of the ol Razzle Dazzle. When our stubborn coach who hates goals was forced to play Andersson with Hanifin he unbeknowingly created a dynamic pairing that was dominating the opposition. If Ward is smart he’ll roll out Gio-Brodie & HaniRazz out when the qualifying round starts (yes I’d rather win than lose). Andersson is young yet still and progressing at a tremendous rate. The Barrie Colts really gave us some gold with RA and AM. 3rd amongst D in CF% with a 51.45% & 2nd in xGF% at 52.99% Razz is turning into a STUD, and he’s contractually obligated to lay down the BOOM in Calgary for the next 6 years.

Maddie: (A) Yeah, I’m very much in agreement with the guys on this one, and there really isn’t a whole lot to add. I think I came into this season with some reasonable expectations for Andersson, and he veritably shattered them (in the best way, obviously). He took a big step forward in his game this season, and it was great to see, and feels even more exciting because it feels like he still has more to give. And I’m just hopeful that he continues to be given the chance to do that and grow his game, because he’s already proven he’s reliable.
