The Flames received news yesterday that one of their top prospects was getting some post season hardware. Jakob Pelletier of the Moncton Wildcats was named the winner of the Frank-J Selke award in the QMJHL for the 2019-20 season. The Wildcat captain received the award for his sportsman-like behavior on the ice over the course of the season. Not only was he on his best behavior (8 minor penalties), but he was third on the Wildcats in scoring with 32 goals, good for 82 points in 57 games.
Pelletier was selected by the Flames with the 26th pick in the first round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.
