Flames vs Avalanche Preview

The Flames and Avalanche will meet in the Western Conference Final. This would be the 2nd all-time playoff meeting between the clubs, with the first being last year’s infamous choke by the Flames as the #1 seed. The Avalanche took 2 out of 3 games from the Flames this year during the regular season, with the Flames winning the final game of the season series on December 9 in overtime.

Calgary got to the Western Conference Final by eliminating the Coyotes, Golden Knights, and Blues, while the Avalanche got here by eliminating the Predators and Stars. This is the Flames first trip to the Conference Finals since 2004, and is the Avs first trip since 2002.

Here is a look at all Flames players statistics through their three series:

Sean Monahan leads the entire NHL in points with Rasmus Andersson just one point behind. Nathan Mackinnon has led the way for Colorado with 12 points through 10 games with Tyson Jost and Gabriel Landeskog not far behind at 11 and 10 points respectively. Phillip Grubauer has been solid for Colorado, carrying a 7-2-1 record with a .925 SV% and 2.40 GAA into the series.

Game 1 will go tonight (Sunday May 10) at 7:30 PM MT. Make sure to join us on our Youtube page where the game will be live streamed!
