The Morning After
Calgary Flames 3 - Columbus Blue Jackets 2 (OT)
Tidbits
-300 Club: Derek Ryan reached a significant milestone last night, playing in his 300th NHL game. At 33 years old, it’s been a long time coming for the Flames centre, who didn’t make his NHL debut until he was 29 years old. Ryan has played 147 games for the Flames, the other 155 for the Carolina Hurricanes.
-Home Getting Better?: The Flames struggles at home this have been well documented, but last night’s OT win brought Calgary’s record to 4-5-1 at the Saddledome over their last 10.
-Home and Away Goalies?: Cam Talbot got the start and the win (after a shaky start), upping his record to 11-10-1. He’s gone 5-5-0 in his last 10 home starts, which is better than David Rittich’s 3-6-1 home record over his last 10. Maybe it’s time for one on the road (Rittich is 6-3-1 in his last 10 road starts) and one at the Dome?
