Recap
The Flames were never able to recover after falling behind by 3 goals early in the third period. Blake Wheeler’s second goal of the game broke a 1-1 tie midway through the second, and Cody Eakin and Mark Scheifele added to the lead to bury the Flames.
After Wheeler gave the Jets a 1-0 lead after the first, Andrew Mangiapane scored inside the crease off a rebound to stay red-hot. He has goals in the last 3 games, and is up to 21 on the season.

Derek Ryan gave the home fans some hope, getting a pass in the high slot from Dillon Dube, and putting it under Hellebuyck’s glove.

Tobias Rieder, fresh off the bench, was able to hustle to the far post and receive a gorgeous pass from Milan Lucic to cut the lead to one.

It would be as close as the Flames would come to tying the game, and Adam Lowry added to empty-netter. David Rittich made 33 saves in the loss.
The Flames are back in virtual action tomorrow night against the Jets, to make up the March 14th game.
