The Calgary Flames have added some depth to the prospect pool by signing two defenders today.
The first is Connor Mackey, a 23 year old from Minnesota State who had 24 points in 36 games last year. He’s 6’2 and 205 lbs and was reported to be quite sought after around the league.
The second is Colton Poolman which the Flames have been linked to for the last couple of days. Poolman is 24 years old and is coming off 17 points in 31 games for the University of North Dakota.
Both players are reported to have signed one year ELC’s which will come into effect starting in the 2020-21 season. This will add some depth to a defensive prospect pool which has dried up of late thanks to the graduations of Rasmus Andersson, Juuso Valimaki, and Oliver Kylington to the NHL level.
