Recap

The Calgary Flames officially find themselves in a slide.

The team fell 3-1 to the San Jose Sharks Tuesday night in Calgary. The Sharks came in losers of 5 of their past 6 but found a way to easily cruise to a victory against the Flames. The home team looked good through the first period, putting up 16 shots on Aaron Dell and looking like the superior team.

They were rewarded for their efforts early in the second, as Johnny Gaudreau slid home Elias Lindholm’s beautiful backdoor pass to make it 1-0.

The Sharks got it back fast, when Brent Burns slapped a rocket off the post and through David Rittich. They would take the lead off Evander Kane’s redirection in the second, but the outcome of this game became a non-factor. Mark Giordano fired a shot towards the Sharks net, but awkwardly fell and was very slow getting to the bench. He seemed to be favouring his knee, and did not return to the game.

Kevin Labanc scored on a backhand in the third, and David Rittich finished the game with 23 saves.
