The Morning After
Calgary Flames 4 - Detroit Red Wings 2
Tidbits
-Climbing The Ladder: Sean Monahan scored his 19th goal of the season, making it the 190th goal of his career. It was also the 134th even strength goal of his career, moving him into a tie for 9th place in Flames history with Kent Nilsson.
-First Time: The Flames victory over Detroit made it a season sweep for Calgary over the Red Wings. They also swept Detroit last year as well, making it the first time ever they have swept the Red Wings in back to back seasons.
-Quietly Heating Up: He’s been a lightning rod for his play this season, but Johnny Gaudreau is playing really well lately. In 11 games so far this month the Flames winger has a point in 9 of 11 games in February. His goal last night was only his second of the month, but he does have 9 assists.
