The Morning After
Calgary Flames 3 - Edmonton Oilers 8
Tidbits
-Droppin’ The Gloves: Mike Smith and Cam Talbot got into it last night during the massive fight during the second period. Both Smith and Talbot got the gate for their efforts and it was the first career fight for Talbot. He also eclipsed his career penalty minute total in one skirmish. He had only 12 career PIM going in to last night, but he gathered a healthy 17 minutes worth for his part in the dust up.
-First: Despite Calgary’s lack of scoring last night, there was a first. Buddy Robinson scored his first goal as a Calgary Flame, getting a feed from his childhood friend Johnny Gaudreau.
-Edmonton Shows Up: The Oilers certainly took out their frustrations on the Flames last night. The Oilers pumped in 8 goals, the most goals they’ve hung on the Flames since a 10-1 victory back on 11/26/96.
