When things were looking bleak earlier in the season, Mark Jankowski was an easy player for the fans to rag on. Jankowski went 38 games without scoring to start his year, and something like 25-30 games without even being on the ice for a Flames goal period. Jankowski finally scored a goal late in yet another very frustrating loss to a basement dwelling team on January 18 in Ottawa. Oh well most thought, even a blind squirrel finds a nut.
Since then, Jankowski has turned things up despite being a healthy scratch a few times. He tallied a goal in the first game back from the break against St. Louis before scoring in San Jose and putting up a multi-goal game in Anaheim last night. That’s five goals in seven games after 0 in 38. Pretty impressive turnaround for him. He has more goals than any Flame since January 18 with the exception of Elias Lindholm who is tied with him at five.
So that leads us to this week’s Fan Poll Friday question, has your opinion of Mark Jankowski changed as a result of this scoring streak? And we’re going to actually break this into two questions.
