Flames select D Jake Boltmann 80th overall

The Flames used their own third round pick to select their third straight defenceman of the 2020 draft. This time, it’s Jake Boltmann from the Lincoln Stars of the USHL. Boltmann has committed to play at the University of Minnesota.

Boltmann had 2 goals and 9 points in 17 games in the USHL, as well as 13 points in 25 games as captain of Edina High in the USHS. He is the 113th ranked North American skater by NHL Central scouting.

Edina is the same high school that 2018 fourth rounder Demetrios Koumontzis was taken from.
