The Flames continued to add to their depth chart Thursday by signing former Pittsburgh Penguins centre Dominik Simon. The 26 year old native of the Czech Republic signed a one year, $700,00 contract with the Flames after playing five seasons for the Pens.

Simon played in 64 games last season, tallying seven goals and 15 assists. Those numbers were the second best of his career, with his best season coming in 2018-19 when he played in 71 games and collected 28 points (8G-20A).

The former 5th round pick in 2015 had shoulder surgery in April and did not play in any of Pittsburgh’s playoff games this past season. He’s logged 12 career playoff appearances with four assists to his name over that time frame.
