What did Zac Rinaldo mean when he tweeted ‘Pop Smoke’ last night?

Zac Rinaldo signed with the Calgary Flames at the beginning of the 2019-2020 season on a one-year, two-way contract with AHL affiliate Stockton Heat. He’s been seeing a lot more snow of late with Geoff Ward getting use of him on the Flames fourth line.

Zac has 3 points (2G, 1A) and 25 PIM in his 12 games being called up by the Flames.

He’s said it himself “I'm not supposed to be here” — and a lot of fans may have agreed with him, but the puppy loving hard hitter is starting to make an impression on Calgary fans. Is the underdog here to stay .. only time will tell.

Flash: Pop Smoke? It’s gotta be about Kassian. All the major news outlets have been suckin up the smokestack amount coming out of the Edmonton dressing room the last 2 days. My money’s on either that, or it’s Rinaldo and Lucic’s new tag team wrestling nicknames . “Pop Smoke Ladder match commencing Jan 29th in EDM” — Sounds about right.

MilhouseFirehouse: As the kids are saying these days “we want the smoke”, as in gunsmoke, as in “we want the conflict”. Sounds like Alberta’s best Zac is just setting the table to pop off on somebody up north January 29th! That or somebody added a steak sauce flavour to their favourite carbonated sugar beverage, which might not be as crazy as it sounds! #steaky
