The Flames and Matthew Tkachuk finally reached a deal on a new contract Wednesday, setting the 21 year old up with a three year contract worth $21 million dollars. The deal makes Tkachuk the highest paid player on the Flames and ends his contract the same year as Johnny Gaudreau.

Negotiations dragged on until close to the last minute, but what was said after the deal was signed was pretty impressive:
