The Flames reduced their roster by one player today, releasing 31 year old defenceman Eric Gryba from his PTO with the team. Gryba, a seven year veteran of the NHL hadn’t seen the ice in any of Calgary’s three preseason games while with the team. Gryba’s time with Calgary was most likely short lived when Calgary signed Michael Stone back on September 11th.
In his seven seasons in the NHL Gryba has played in 289 games, scoring seven goals and collecting 36 assists. Last season the defenceman saw 10 games in the NHL with the NJ Devils and spent 47 games in the AHL with the Binghamton Devils collecting seven points and 96 PIM.
