After a long impasse, the Calgary Flames and Andrew Mangiapane have come to an agreement regarding a contract for the 2019-20 season. After all the negotiating and posturing, Mangiapane signed a one year, two-way deal for 715k. It’s an interesting outcome after the sides reportedly being far apart with numbers being higher.

It was also quite surprising in the first place to see the holdout drag into training camp for a player who had only played about 23 of an NHL season. Nevertheless the deal is now done and the Flames will have roughly 6.4 M of cap space left to sign Matthew Tkachuk, which obviously won’t be enough.

Mangiapane is expected to join the team shortly as pre-season kicks off tomorrow.
