Flames Re-Sign Sam Bennett for Two Years

The Flames gave two more years to the former 4th overall pick

The Calgary Flames have signed Sam Bennett to a two year contract extension worth a total of $5.1M. That means Bennett will carry a $2.55M AAV for the next two years, a very reasonable price given some of the comparable players signed this summer.

Bennett had 26 points last season but did have a strong performance in the playoffs, being one of the rare Flames that actually showed well.

Calgary now has roughly $7.4M of cap space with Matthew Tkachuk, Andrew Mangiapane, and David Rittich left to sign.
