Report: Flames, City of Calgary reach Tentative New Arena Deal

According to reports, the City of Calgary and the Flames have reached a tentative agreement for a new arena in the Victoria Park area of Calgary. Council will be discussing the final terms of the deal on Monday afternoon behind closed doors.

This should end a long-running standoff between the city and Flames organization that climaxed with the breakdown of talks back in 2017 and subtle relocation threats from the team. If these plans are approved by council, the Calgary Flames and city will have a brand new state of the art arena and gathering place for many community events.
