The Flames first brought Lomberg into the organization way back in 2015 when they invited him to their summer development camp. He spent time with both Stockton and Adirondack in 2015-16 before spending the next three years only in Stockton, apart from a few brief callups to the Flames.

He dressed for seven games in 2017-18, and four games last year, being part of the infamous Wild game where he fought Matt Dumba late and earned a suspension. He’s endeared himself to some Flames fans as he’s a pesty player that gets under your skin. However he doesn’t have much else in his skillset, at least at the NHL level right now.

He put up 29 points in 58 games last season with Stockton, which was his third straight year with 28-29 points. It’s hard to see much of a future for Lomberg in Calgary given the current forward depth, and that he’s only 5’9. It’s not like he would be a fourth line goon running around hitting guys all night.

We more or less know what Lomberg is, and it’s for that reason that won’t be any higher on this list in his final year of eligibility. The Flames seemed to like him enough to qualify him this offseason, and now we wait to see what kind of contract they give him to come back.
