While they aren't the biggest free agent names in the pool, add Brandon Davidson and Byron Froese to your Flames rosters. Calgary signed the two players this afternoon after losing four players on the day. Brad Treliving was looking for extra depth players and this is exactly what the Flames will get in Davidson and Froese.
Brandon Davidson comes to the Flames by way of the Chicago Blackhawks. The 26 year old, left shot defenceman is now on his fourth team since joining the league back in 2014-15. He suited up in 10 games with the 'Hawks last season, registering one assist. His most successful season was back in 2015-16 with Edmonton where he played in 51 games and had 11 points.
Byron Froese spent last season with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL, playing in 24 games and scoring seven goals and collecting seven assists. The 28 year old last saw the NHL ice as a member of the Montreal Canadiens back in 2017-18 where he played 48 games and had 11 points.
Each contract is a one year, two-way deal worth $700k. Both players will most likely take up roster spots in Stockton with the Heat.
