MarkParkinson14= (D) I just don’t see it with Dube. Maybe I’m the only one, but I see him as a player that is expendable and could easily be thrown into a trade. He could potentially become a player that gets more ice time if the Flames were to move a few players, but it would also depend what they would get in return. He’s under contract for two more seasons so maybe there is some hope for him down the line. He’s a good skater and has some serious speed, but in the end he seems like a poor man’s version of a lot of what the Flames already have.

MGMacGillivray = (C+) Looks like I disagree with Mark on this one. While Dube didn’t make a huge impact in his time in the NHL this year, he did show some flashes of the player he could become. I’m far more encouraged by the fact he went down to the AHL as a rookie and finished over a point per game with 39 points in 37 games. He did all of this at the age of 20, and in my opinion he’s probably the best Flames prospect who’s not in the NHL full-time right now, not counting Juuso Valimaki who I consider an NHLer. However I do agree that the Flames forward depth right now isn’t set up well to give Dube a chance to succeed, but I think he’s a player that’s good enough to make room by moving other guys out, rather than using him as a trade chip. I’m really excited about his future with the club.
