Individual Grades

MGMacGillivray = (C) Points-wise Frolik had one of the better years of his career, scoring on a pace that would’ve set a career high in goals and close to a career high in points had he played the full 82 games. However he lacked the ability to solidify his spot on the 3M line for long stretches this season and really started to look expendable as the season carried on. The whole sideshow with his agent was another nail in the proverbial coffin which will likely see him shipped out the door this offseason. While he still does provide some value for the Flames, a split appears to be beneficial for both sides.

Madeline Campbell = (C) A C here feels about right because I think more than anything, I’m indifferent on Frolik. I certainly don’t have any actively bad feelings about his play, but he also didn’t move the needle for me a ton, especially down the stretch. And maybe that’s just faulting him for peaking too early, and maybe that’s unfair. I’m not sure. All the same, I wanted to see more from him in the back half of the season, and it just wasn’t quite there, and, as Michael said, it made him somewhat expendable.
