Dalton Prout: Defence

Regular Season: 20 GP, 1 G, 1 A, 2 Pts, 8 PIM, +1, -1.5 CFRel%

Playoffs: 0 GP, 0 G, 0 A, 0 Pts, 0 PIM

MarkParkinson14= (C) I gave Prout a “C” because I don’t think he did anything spectacular in his 20 games, but he wasn’t a total nightmare either. He was steady when the Flames needed him to slot into the lineup, though I wish he played a more physical role when he was out there. The role of the enforcer is clearly a thing of the past, but Prout was supposed to bring a little bit of that old school grit to the Flames lineup. Either way, it’s hard to be too hard on a player after only 20 games played and being a body to let a player rest up or step in when someone was injured.

MGMacGillivray = (C+) Prout gets a C+ because of his wicked dangle in the divisional clinching game against San Jose. He filled the role of the 7th defenseman well, and was a fine third pairing guy when he found his way into the lineup. Unfortunately we’ve probably seen the last of Prout with the Flames having approximately 837 defensemen under contract for next year.
