Remember Michael Stone? Yes, that Michael Stone, he's on his way back to the rink. The Flames loaned the defenceman to the Stockton Heat this afternoon for a conditioning assignment.
Stone has been sidelined since November 11th with a blood clot issue. He has only played in 11 games so far this season and has four points.
Stone has been replaced by various players this season, but Oliver Kylington has shined in his absence. What, if any affect this has in Calgary's blue line depth remains to be seen seeing this is the first step in Stone working his way back to Calgary.
The Flames have Kylington, Dalton Prout and the recently acquired Oscar Fantenberg filling the final spot on Calgary's bottom defensive pairing with the rising star in Rasmus Andersson.
