Flames Acquire D Oscar Fantenberg from Kings

The Calgary Flames made their first trade of the 2019 trade deadline, acquiring D Oscar Fantenberg from the Los Angels Kings in exchange for a conditional 4th round pick in the 2020. The condition on the pick is that it becomes a 2020 3rd if the Flames make the Western Conference Final and Fantenberg plays in at least 50% of the playoff games.

Fantenberg has dressed in 46 games for the Kings this year registering 3 points, a -2 rating, and 10 PIM. He began his NHL career last year with L.A., skating in 27 games for the Kings and spending time with their AHL team.

We’ll see if this is the final trade of the day or not for the Flames as the deadline approaches.
