Predictions

Mark: Calgary Flames 4 – LA Kings 2

Calgary finally shuts up Drew Doughty and the Kings to win their 4th in a row. Forget Tkachuk and Doughty, I feel like this is going to be a monster game for Johnny Gaudreau after he turned it on against Buffalo Thursday night.

Flash: Calgary Flames 4 – LA Kings 3

Flames record, current streak: 14-12-4, W3 // xGF% 49.18 // sh% 6.11 // sv% 91.42

Kings record, current streak: 11-17-2, L3 // xGF% 52.72 // sh% 6.62 // sv% 90.54

The Flames and Kings have let goals in at approximately the same rate this year (xGA/60 is 2.32 for CGY v 2.31 for LAK) while both having a terrible shooting percentage. I have more faith in the Flames forward group up front to regress back to the norm and score some goals on this LAK team that has weak goaltending. If they push the pace like they did for 55 minutes last game, they should come out on top, even with Talbot in net.

Maddie: Calgary Flames 3 – LA Kings 2 (OT)

I can’t shake this feeling that this game is going to end up being a lot closer than it should and we would like for it to be. But the Flames are playing better and the Kings are still bad, plus the Flames played Dancing Queen at practice on Friday, and with that energy happening, there’s no way they can lose. I refuse to accept that as a possibility.

Michael: Calgary Flames 5 – LA Kings 3

LA always plays the Flames really tough and the games always seem to be really emotionally charged for reasons I can’t figure out. With the Flames at home, I expect them to continue their roll with a strong victory. We saw some shades of the new lines gelling against Buffalo, and I think tonight they’ll reap even more rewards.
