NHL Standings

The Calgary Flames will get a chance to exercise some early season demons on Hockey Night in Canada. The LA Kings and number-one-Matthew-Tkachuk-fan Drew Doughty are in Calgary for the division rivals’ third matchup of the season already. Despite the Kings being in 29th place overall, the Flames have yet to beat them this season. The Flames previously fell 4-3 in overtime to LA in Calgary on October 8th, and then again in LA on October 19th by a 4-1 score.

Since assuming the head coaching interim role on November 27th in Buffalo, the Flames have gone 3-0 under Geoff Ward, and are currently on their first 3+ game winning streak this season. The team bent but did not break in Thursday’s home return against Buffalo, winning 4-3.

The Kings are 3-6-1 in their last 10 games, and have lost 3 in a row. They fell 2-1 in Edmonton Friday, and Saturday’s game in Calgary is the second half of a back-to-back for them
