Predictions

Mark: Calgary Flames 5 – Edmonton Oilers 2

Calgary fires the opening shots in the Battle Of Alberta with a 5 goal effort to beat the Oilers in their building.

Safe Prediction: Connor McDavid figures in both Edmonton goals.

Bold Prediction: Matthew Tkachuk has a 4 point night.

Maddie: Calgary Flames 3 – Edmonton Oilers 1

The Oilers are on a bit of a skid right now, and the Flames, despite the recent results aren’t playing all that badly (not perfect, but not awful), so I think they’ll be able to pull off a win over the Oilers tonight. That said, I’m not sure I’m feeling super confident that their offense is going to click right away, right after the break, so a 3-1 win feels more reasonable (and I wouldn’t be surprised if the third goal was an empty netter). But hey, I’m still feeling a win, and that’s what matters!

Flash: Calgary Flames 6 – Edmonton Oilers 5

I’m avidly praying Mike Smith starts instead of Koskinen, that way 6 would seem so much sweeter. With McD and Drai back together I expect a minimum of 3 goals out of that duo, but the Oilers bottom 6 still sucks so the Flames should be able to take advantage of it, and give me some bragging rights over the always vocal Oilers fans.
