On Wednesday Kelsie Snow, wife of Calgary Assistant GM Chris Snow, released a letter through the Flames announcing that Chris is in the early stages of battling ALS. If you are unfamiliar with ALS it’s currently a disease with no cure that starves your muscles of nutrients and ultimately the human body wastes away. If you’ve ever known someone who has died from ALS it’s a horrible and cruel disease.

Chris and his family have dealt with ALS before and it’s a tragic history for sure. Chris lost his father last year and he’s lost two uncles and a cousin to ALS.

While there is no cure, we here at Matchsticks and Gasoline are 100% behind the Snow family as they begin a long and hard battle against amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. We hope that through some miracle a cure become available, not only for Chris and his family, but all of those afflicted with this fatal disease. No family should have to endure what the Snow’s have and we send our thoughts and prayers to Chris and his family during these extremely trying times. Fight Chris! We’re standing with you!
