Gearing up...

It’s December and you know what that means! World Juniors time is almost upon us! The national teams are set to start their selection camps in the next few weeks, and the Flames’ 2019 first round pick Jakob Pelletier has made Canada’s selection camp.

Pelletier is off to a pretty stellar start to his season with Moncton of the QMJHL, having registered 48 points (18 goals and 30 assists) in his first 25 games, which leads his team and is good for third in the league in points, behind just Cédric Paré and Alexis Lafrenière.

He isn’t a lock for the team, as he’s one of 18 forwards presently vying for 12 or 13 spots, but with already a pretty high turnover from last year’s roster, the doors are open for Pelletier, if he has the selection camp the he seems capable of having.

Canada’s selection camp starts on December 9 in Oakville Ontario, and you can check out the full roster here.
