Predictions

Mark: Calgary Flames 3 – Montreal Canadiens 2 (OT)

The Flames squeak one out in OT to get back on the winning track. The retro white’s hearken back to the glory days of beating Montreal in ‘89 and all is right with the world.

Safe Prediction: Sam Bennett takes an untimely penalty.

Bold Prediction: Mark Giordano is the overtime hero.

Flash: Calgary Flames 4 – Montreal Canadiens 2

The Flames are coming off playing one of their best games of the season… and losing. They know it too, so I expect plenty of high danger chances, a great outing from a well rested Rittich, and the Flames to get back in the W column. Hey, maybe Looch will score again?

Maddie: Calgary Flames 3 – Montreal Canadiens 1

I don’t really trust the Canadiens, to be completely honest, and they’ve been having a bit of a tough go recently. I think the Flames, while they’ve been on a little bit of a skid, will be able to get themselves back on track in this one, so I’m feeling a pretty tidy regulation win in this one. They’ve been playing well and the recent results haven’t necessarily been reflective of the process. Upward regression is coming, folks!

Michael: Calgary Flames 2 – Montreal Canadiens 0

David Rittich outduels arguably the best goaltender in the league in a game that features only one goal plus an empty netter. I am so excited for these jersey combos I can’t even explain it.

Safe Prediction: Travis Hamonic blocks at least one Shea Weber slapshot

Bold Prediction: David Rittich has at least two penalty minutes
